And, while it’s not the longest manual, it is definitely the most information-dense piece I’ve written in some time (I don’t believe in padding my manuals and reports with a lot of fluff – I just give you the good stuff!).

But, it got me thinking about how hard it was to get information on how to start and run summer camps when I did my first camp. Most of what I learned was trial and error, based on observing what other people did in their own camps.

Of course, I also spent a lot of money on consulting fees as well – some of it was well spent, some of it, not so much.

But, after all was said and done, our first real summer camp was a smashing success… we made about $25,000.00 in a little over 8 weeks of camp, and learned a lot about running kids camps in that short period of time.
